In the blink of an eye. . .

About the name, ImageBlast.
Over the years, I wrestled in developing a name that best describes my services and skills. The name was critical because of my broad spectrum of talents and experience - it had to be a name that encompassed design, photo detailing and manipulation, illustrative skills and multimedia.

Then in 1995, while listening to a tape on anatomy, the teacher began elaborating on certain cells in the body called "osteoblast" cells which build bone. The word "blast" meaning "to build" became the suffix of our name.

The name "ImageBlast" is universal - in design; we build the corporate image, in retouching; we build and protect the optical information of your photos so they blast off the page with color and detail!

About the artist
Well I grew up loving art. My father graduated from the "Chicago Art Institute" in 1949 and influenced my path greatly. In 1973, before graduating from high school, the Palm Beach Post hired me as a news illustrator and worked there as a cartoonist and illustrator till 1980.

Loving airbrush I was then hired by the National Enquirer as a photo retoucher and sought to merge my illustrative skills to photo detailing. It was here where I was introduced to Adobe's Photoshop 1.07 - then explored and developed many unconventional methods of retouching and image manipulation.

After working for these two companies, I worked for some advertising agencies and then was pulled back to the Enquirer. A few years later, left AMI and began ImageBlast - and still enjoy servicing the needs of American Media Inc.

Retouching beyond the norm
With over 15 years in retouching some of the worst images for the National Enquirer - one does gain from this experience. The difference between good and bad retouching is in if your "visibles are invisible". Good retouching shows no signs of retouching.

ImageBlast uses a unique technique of retouching called "Image detailing" which analyzes the optical information of the photographic image. The conventional retouching methods used in prepress houses never learn "image detailing" and therefore cannot bring out the best in your photographic needs. We hope you take the time to review the samples in our showcase.

Our award-winning designs and our image detailing services are a winning combination.
